Bid Manager - GEM Portal


Job Summary


We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Bid Manager to join our team and play a key role in securing successful bids on the Government eMarketplace (GeM) portal. This role is responsible for identifying and analyzing bid opportunities, developing competitive bids, and managing the entire bid submission process to ensure compliance and maximize the chance of winning contracts.


Responsibilities


  • Bid identification and analysis:Proactively search for relevant tenders on the GeM portal aligned with the company's offerings.
  • Analyze tender documents, including qualification criteria, technical specifications, and commercial terms.
  • Assess the competitiveness of each opportunity and develop a win probability score.
  • Bid development and preparation:Work closely with internal teams (technical, commercial, legal) to prepare comprehensive and compelling bids.
  • Ensure bids meet all technical specifications, eligibility requirements, and submission guidelines.
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies based on market research and cost analysis.
  • Create high-quality bid documents, including technical proposals, price bids, and supporting documentation.
  • Bid submission and management:Manage the entire bid submission process on the GeM portal, ensuring all documents are uploaded timely and accurately.
  • Maintain clear communication with relevant government authorities for any clarifications or queries.
  • Track bid progress and respond to any requests for information effectively.
  • Post-bid evaluation and analysis:Analyze bid results to identify areas for improvement in future bids.
  • Maintain a database of bid information for future reference and market analysis.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in bid management, proposal writing, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in working with government procurement processes, specifically the GeM portal.
  • Strong understanding of tender documentation, technical specifications, and commercial terms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess bid opportunities and develop winning strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with bid management software (a plus).
